Vern, the diff is a standard live axle, I haven’t got to the mx5 rear assembly yet, that could be work in progress, if I decide to carry on building

The front wheels are too big. 7” wide with 215 tyres. My poor little wrist can’t force them around. I’m looking for narrower rims maybe down to 185 or175 tyres.

My new old build B type is approaching the final chapter. Had a shed load of hassle with my life let alone the car. Anyway it is now up and running on a MX5 engine and box, electrics have never been my strong point, but, big but. It is now finishing, few gremlins to iron and I’ve changed the plan a fair bit. So it starts, runs, stops, lights horn all work, cooling fan spins when it’s told, steering is a bit weird, and the pedals are a tad far away. All new aluminium skin sides and tunnel and…

So it starts, runs, stops, lights horn all work, cooling fan spins when it’s told, steering is a bit weird, and the pedals are a tad far away. All new aluminium skin sides and tunnel and bulkhead, but I’m not entirely happy with it. Do I compromise and carry on or strip it back and start afresh.
mean while the blue B + is needing a body work overhaul, lots of crazing and stress marks, bit like it’s owner, but I will use it this summer and look at it as the winter draws in.
its always a bit of a slog St…tag:duttonowners.ning.com,2018-11-22:2398922:Comment:2464722018-11-22T20:59:04.975ZDave Adamshttp://duttonowners.ning.com/profile/DaveAdams

been all day on the B type, and got very little to show, had to make some fiddly brackets and weld on to hold the fuel pipes. Bracket for the new fuel pump and finish off the brake and clutch lines. Just seem to be knocking out little boring jobs before I glue the tub on. Then the panels will be trimmed and fitted, so hope that things suddenly look a bit better and fires me up.

Bloody weather!! all ready to hit the B type and the sun is shining, bit chilly, but off we went, another good day batting around the lanes and highways of Devon. Never missed a beat. Thirsty? well mid 20's, not bad for a 44 year old engine. Body work is getting a concern. Lots of nicks and scratches, crazing etc. A lot seem to be just the paint. Maybe its gone hard or something, car does flex a fair bit. Still, pounds per mile? I reckon I'm well in credit. Hope it last another few days,…

Plans to go on one more raid to the coast. MOT man will be shocked at the way the mileage has climbed.

no, Daryl, haven't touched it in month's lost my way with it, nearly broke it etc. Back at it now, fuel lines tomorrow and start the rear wiring, then can get the tub mounted full time. And the seat tub too
