On July the 15th this year I became owner of a motor factors in sunny Skelmersdale, possibly the best thing that I could ever have done., possibly not, only time will tell. Situated in 'old skem' its not imposing, not flash and not exactly 21st century.
I'll be using these blog pages to list up anything that may be Dutton related that comes across my threshold so I would like to point out that funny and sarcy comments may be deleted.
Coming up to the end of my first calender month as owner I thought it time I told a few tales and listed a few items that may be of interest.
We have an ebay shop under construction LINK and some parts will be listed there.
We also have a faceache page LINK so feel free to say hello if you are that way inclined.
As time goes on I will be trying to hold stock of various dutton compatible bits but anything like that will turn up here first. Discount for active contributors to this forum and club members will be available. Shipping will be at cost and if I need to get a courier to ship bigger items that can be arranged.
There is literally a shed load of older parts that I just haven't had time to go through including OHV valves and rings, gasket sets for Essex, Kent, Cologne and Pinto engines.
Now those of you that have know me for a while know I also have a love for the Ford Transit.
From my first back in 1985 to date they have all been 'odd'...
This is the 'works van' as sponsored by Hot Wheels.....
255/60/18's. Deliberately used to correct the discrepancy in speedo readings (over 4% out) and now its bang on....no fouling, no spacers and commercial rated tyres.... Signwriting to follow shortly.
Still a bit gutless as the pump timing is off. I have invested in one of those OBD boxes and a full copy of Forscan on my tablet which reads and clears fault codes, gives displays of what the engine is up to in real time too.

Transit has now been 'blinged' with shiny stuff.
Still a bit gutless as the pump timing is off. I have invested in one of those OBD boxes and a full copy of Forscan on my tablet which reads and clears fault codes, gives displays of what the engine is up to in real time too.

For 'budget' tyres they are rather grippy, certainly better than the slicks I took off.
