Daryl the cardboard was just a former to get the shape, already started removing it from underneath.

LOL - Cardboard Aided Design works with ally, fibreglass, allsorts. 

Not sure about leaving the cardboard in there though. I'd have covered it in silver foil and left that as the surface facing the mechanical bits to reflect the heat.

Ha, you spelt cardboard wrong!!!!

Had to cut the tunnel up to get good clearance for the gearbox, made up a template, painted a layer of resin over it to stiffen it up and put a few layers of glass over the whole lot. will add a pic of the finished thing tomorrow, but i'm quite pleased with how it came out.
