Dutton Kit Cars and their owners

Evening all.
Here's a real doozie of a question.
Just been given a nice Smith boxed NOS Tacho. Problem for me no wiring destructions!!!
At the back, an apperture for bulb holder,ok ,but only two connectors ...
One spade mail terminal ,the other mail bullet connector. No earth tabs but two screws with star washers and two ordinary. (One pair must be to hold the gizzmos internals together)
The others(star washers) possibly earths( ring connector terminal)  or maybe earthed through the bulb holder?
My question which connector? bullet? and spade? for live and coil.?
It's a negative tacho.
Thanks and waiting in anticipation.....

Does it say RVI or RVC in small letters on the face of the dial?

See which one then google tacho RVI or RVC wiring - I = inductive  which means the power to the coil goes from the ignition to the tacho and then to the coil - C = power to the tacho and then the -ve from the coil to the tacho as the trigger

I will up load photo tomorrow. I can't find the camera, think my daughters used it.

There are no earth tabs.

Thanks for the info.

Found this when I googled it:

The wiring on the tach is as follows:
The spade connector on the back of the tach has a green wire going to the fuse box.
The bullet connector has a white with black stripe wire going to the - side of the coil.
There are 2 black wires lugged together with a stay-con connector attached to the tach body for the ground.
Thats it no, more wiring on the tach. This is an original Smiths tach for a 74.

Am I right in saying: spade to 12v Ignition

Bullet to neg coil

Answers on a post card please!!!
