Autotest Phaeton - updates Aug 17

Unfortunately, not too much to report.

Steve's had her out again, another demo run at the Alford Speedfest and one Autotest, but I've still only managed one so far this year. Been so busy it's been a total bust, fun wise.

Anyway, in terms of upgrades, about the only thing we've done is get the Peugeot 205GTi 1900 15" alloys fitted to the rear. Needed 20mm spacers, although I reckon 15mm worth might have done. Also discovered the car was already fitted with the long 63mm extended wheel studs, which was handy. A set of special wheel nuts from Speedshack and they're on.

With these fitted, I noticed there's a difference in gap between the chassis and the sidewall from the right to the left. Will be getting an adjustable panhard rod fitted, and renewing the leaf spring bushes to get everything into line.

Not picked up the compression struts yet, keep missing the guy! Also, not ordered new front struts yet either, although I'm now armed with a set of 250kg scales so can try some cheapo DIY corner weight measurement at some point.

And that's about it. Does look mean with the pug 15s on the back, though.

Cheers!

Will be sure to post up as-found results James, CVH isn't a particularly heavy engine so I'm hoping the front corners don't come in above 250kg each otherwise the scales will have been a waste of money!

I had been holding out hope that the GTi wheels might fit without spacers... not by a long shot!

Bought an adjustable Land Rover panhard rod (complete with polybushes) on eBay the other night for a price less than I could make one for, so this will be getting fitted soon.

I'd be interested to hear about the corner weights. Peugeot wheels are good because they are usually lower ET than FWD Ford ones, so less spacing is needed.
