Dutton Kit Cars and their owners

Hi All. Been thinking about fitting a fire extinguisher to the Melos . I have a few questions :                      How many of you have one.               What size ?     Where have you mounted it ?      Are the ones with a push on clip fixing strong enough or do they keep falling off ( strap/ band fixing better) ?     Im guessing powder is best .

the strap type is better than the clip ones as the clip ones end up rolling around the vehicle.

i prefer the ,halon, ones because the powder make such a mess and when powder has been used anything it touch,s corrodes as the powder becomes acidic when damp .its evil stuff

I fitted a powder one , it cost about a tenner.

It is in a plastic clip holder on passesnger side, i can reach it with my harness on.

certainly Wayne,  so you dont mind if we set light to you then Lol ,then see which puts you out best

I have a small co2 in the boot. Gauge in the green so hope ok.

Thanks for all the comments : Its one of those things that you will never probably need , BUT if you do and you haven't then all you can do is watch !!!  :(

take it from me, Steve is right, your Dutton wouldnt last very long at all 5 mins at the most, my mates fury burnt out in about that   and he was very lucky to get out

its not just a must have, its a  if you dont have  you could severly be hurt. ,or worse.

where ever you fit a fire extinguisher, ensure you can get to it very fast, from your driving seat if possible , even if its a remote  switch,  you wont have the time to go fishing for it.
