So Adrian, Steve K and Me. Who else is going? If you could PM me with your snail-mail address then I'll get your tickets off as soon as I get them. It is about 30 miles from me so I could get there quite early, if I don't breakdown.

As I understand it, we get a display area and tickets for 10 cars. Extra cars cost £12 each and all passengers cost an additional £12. They request that we buy the passenger tickets in advance so that we don't slow down the other display entrants. It is open from 7:00am on the day for us to set up.

I fully intend to be there, just need to sort my diff problems but that should be done this week

So far I have 3 or 4 takers for this. Does nobody else want to bring their Dutton?

We are currently up to 5 Duttons of whom 3 are current committee members and one is an ex-committee member. So not a bad showing. Pity there's no Melos or Sierra expected but there is still time.

Shan't be bringing mine, although it would solve the sleeping over issue

So at the moment we have...

2 legerra's, 3? Phaetons

James

Adrian

Pete

Roger? Who else?

THATS IT !!!!    I'm giving up ........... Tried my hardest to get the car finished for Castle Combe, sorry boys just cant do it.  I'm not going to rush the last bits after all this time and its definitely not leaving the garage until its 100% finished.

I had to pull the fuel tank out to make some modifications to the seat belts, which involves a lot of mucking about with the internal anti slosh chamber and sender unit.

not sure how mods to the anti slosh chamber (swirl pot or just plain old baffles?) will help you with the seat belts........i know your keen on high quality mods ......but you really are going a bit far combining your seat belts with tank internals.. well done that man!

:-))))   Beleive me Dave, it's a bloody curse having M.O.C.D (mechanical obsessive compulsive disorder)

I was about to throw away the old seat belt buckles, when I noticed how much they had chaffed with the movement from the diff housing, not breaking the sleeving but definitely hitting it, and decided that it would annoy me if I could feel it through the seat belt, So a redesign of the fixing point was in order to route and fix the buckle tails either side of the diff housing instead of over the top of it, which meant tank out....... which meant taking out the anti slosh chamber (swirl pot or just plain old baffles) as the tank wont come out of the boot with it in place. Tis done now and so much better ;-)

So what else is left Paul?

This is what is left Ade

TBH....the crossflows are fetching silly money on ebay especially the 1600's... cars are being bought just for the engine and then scrapped. I would think that the sale of the crossflow (in what ever condition it is in right now) would fund a zetec conversion at the very least and leave you with a tidy sum in spending money for .....well what ever you like. but spending money on rebuilding a crossflow 1600 is lunacy as the cost will likely be more than the car is worth and will just make the car an even bigger target for the breakers when you decide to sell it. that with the not spectacular reliability or fuel consumption compared with more modern engines i would have to ask why go to all the effort?
