I just sold a rocket box for £50 and bought a type 9 and a MT 75 for £50 each. my friend last weekend bought a type 9 for £100, so they are out there. my local breakers will sell any engine as a pull from a car for £140 and you can reuse the ford ECU, its not a lot of money, and less than the crossflow rebuild. but i do understand your preference, but its not for me.

I've still got 4 tickets left for this event. I have phoned 29 members or recent members this weekend and I have emailed another 11 that we don't have a phone number for. So far I have got one extra attendee and had a number of good chats. I will send the tickets tomorrow (first class).

As Paul says good work James! I ordered a ticket for the missus on friday and have booked a premier inn at Swindon for friday night. Hopefully going to sort some little niggles on the car the next couple of evenings and then i'll be pretty much ready.

Well done james, now that's dedication.

Car made the 120 mile journey to Swindon where we're stopping tonight. Should be a good day tomorrow :)

Well done, Paul. My Legerra is loaded with chairs and gazebo and all ready to go. I'm hoping to be there before 8am to set up. Our pitch should back onto the track so we might be able to see some of the track action too, assuming that we can't buy some track time on the day.

There was some mention of a parade lap, no doubt not fast enough for most of us but evidently a lot faster than I will be going tomorrow :(

Have a good time all,

don't show off too much Pete your car looks like it may have already been backwards into the scenery (dodgy boot repairs) enjoy it but give everyone else a chance that car looks like it may be quite nimble.....

http://www.gurstondown.org/calendar/#. Sorry put it in the wrong post :-)

Just got back from a good day. There was a little light rain but not enough to cause any problems. There were spaces on the track sessions and I managed to get out in the Legerra, see picture. Nick Carlin was the passenger. The fastest that we got up to was 98.77mph. We might have got more if I had changed into 5th. We were just getting into a rhythm when the car started missing and we retired. Luckily it was only an ignition lead that came off the dizzy, so no lasting damage.

I was very pleased with the way that the Legerra handled. As you can see in the picture, the tyres were worked pretty hard. Some of the other cars sailed past us but we were not the slowest car and managed to overtake a Metro with a 180bhp VVT engine from an MGF.

Nice picture James, good stuff bud.

Can I have a copy of that in HiRes for the Flickr site please, nice shot and that back tyre does look to be struggling, what pressures are you on there James?
