After little bit of further research i think the inlet cam can be indentified by the cam reference position marker being on that cam. So if I look at the 130 cams I have obtained then the inlet is the one with the marker lump. I was just trying to see how to tell which is which when they are lying in a cardboard box. By the way, the engine is a late silver top. It is a silver top with a black cover.

Depends on which version of Zetec you have as to what the differences are regarding camshafts. The mk1 (silvertop) 1.8 medium output 115hp had different cams to the 1.8 high output 130hp. the mk2 value (blacktop) 1.8 120hp replaced both the mk1 versions.

On the 2ltr cams..... Inlet 9mm lift   Exhaust 8mm lift      as far as I am aware there is only one profile on all standard zetec cams.

Zetec cam question. I have a 1.8 zetec RKC engine 115bhp and have now got a set of 130bhp cams. The question is are the inlet and the exhaust cams the same? Or how do I know cam to put where, or are they both the same? I know that I need to get the car on the road first and engine will follow later, but I am trying work on the Zetec are I rebuild the car, so it can go in soon after it is on the road.

Some work done to the colour and stripes.  Now painted the screen surround black.

Progress is still slow

The menu sign board that can be seen in the background of the photo will become the dash board. I was inspired by Paul's use of signage material.

Daryl, if you think the floor is bad, you should see the workbench - or not.
