The S4 is mainly built needs to add an engine and brakes and a few other pieces my problem is I don't know whether tyhis car has already been registered.

I have a chassis number that appears to be issued by the DVLA but no decoder I use works

you have any suggestions?

Hi James, very much a project I'm afraid. Pretty much all their, ( side panels are in steel, think they should be alloy and no hood or side screens) just needs putting back together. Early Dutton 1973, with a space frame chassis based on a Spitfire. Original 1147 cc  engine was not with it but it came with 1500cc.

Hi James the Melos is in need of well I have a body and a chassis and not a lot else, so it should keep me busy for a while.

Hello James, No, thers not many here. There is an old Dutton sierra that has been here forever and that is about it. My phaeton is from 1980 and runs but needs a bit of work. It has a small petrol tank in the boot so I suspect its been used for hill climb type events. I guess I would need to put a proper tank in if its to go back on the road.

All the best, James

Not road Worthy yet but getting there. She was in a bit of a state when I bought her but she's coming on in leaps and bounds. She now stars stops and drives. I've started a light restoration of the car. Hopefully she will be at stoneleigh this year.

Hi James,

No not my handy work. I have recently acquired the Melos and am working through it back to front! It has had a 5 link rear conversion at some time so I am stripping it all down. Zetec install is not that good as it is on Zenith carbs that arn.t properly jetted or set up, so that's the next task!

Hi James thanks for the welcome. You could call it a project which is miles from being classed as a car. Literally the body and chassis is in Bolton and the engine is in Kent. But hoping to get started with the project soon.

Many thanks James.

Thanks James. The Phaeton is a new project, currently in bits but (mostly) complete. It has a 1600 pre-711M crossflow at the moment with a Rocket ’box, but my Melos has a Kent engine so I think I'll go another route. Blank canvas at the moment!

Thanks :-). I live in Lund (most southern part of sweden). The car is a project. The frame and driveline is almost complete, but the rest is still to do :-P

But,

the BMW is 13 years old and the Kawasaki even 24 years old, so old timer in fact.

But, that is the reason why I love them.

O James,

then I am a loser. I only have a BMW K1200 GT, a Kawasaki KLR 250 and a Harley Fat Boy 2006.

Sorry that I have to disappoint you.

I think the configuration is okay. The bike engine is powerful and in fact I am a biker so the connection with my (other) love is guaranteed. And yes, one of the characteristics of a bike engine is that the power comes out at the higher revs, compared with a car engine.

But due to the low weight of a kitcar I think it is acceptable.

So, I need more revs but not 12.000 and at the same time, I like it! The sound comes with the revs. :-).
