New Home for the Duttonator
The new garage is coming on well and the walls are almost complete. Hopefully the roof will be on next week and I can start the internal fittings. There will be French windows in the first opening and a double glazed window in the second. They both look down the garden towards the house. At the front there will be folding doors (with no windows so that the local baddies won't be able to look in.

i bought 5L of floor paint from ALDI recently, in two 2.5l tins one just did the floor and when the phaeton comes out of the garage it will get another coat.

looks almost as big as my garage......mine is 17'6" by 18' and is full with the phaeton in it......and a bit of crap er useful stuff for my projects.....

I used two pack in the unit. Goes off too quick to do such a large area however a garage wouldn't be too bad. I also didn't seal the floor first - big mistake.

I used some two pack floor paint. I used somebody's surplus paint so it was cheap, wouldn't fancy paying full price. A very tough product.

I just had to seal and paint a large concrete floor. PVA from homebase £9 for 5 litres, mixed at about 3 parts water to one part PVA - 24 hours to dry and its good to paint. I have used Granville floor paint and am very satisfied with the one coat finish. Its the same stuff Dave has used in the Daisy house. There was one patch of floor that I forgot to seal and it doesn't like it at all. cost less than £50 to do enough space for 6 legerras. Not sure what price you would pay for floor paint down there but I used 15 - 17 litres of paint.

Ade, the answer is "Yes", and "No". "Yes" in that the shell is all done and the roof is watertight. "No" because : The electrics are just an extension lead from the other garage. The doors have their top bolts, but not the floor ones. The original concrete slab didn't meet the walls and I have only filled the gap on one side. Because of that, I haven't got shelves up and so the storage isn't in place for all of the crap that is bed-blocking the other garage, where the Yellow car will be going. Plus I still need to make a concrete ramp at the entrance, now that I have chiselled a step to stop the rain water running under the doors. Then I need to repair the path down the side of the new garage and paint all the garage, inside and out.

That picture is rather deceiving as the garage is narrower than it looks so there isn't quite room for 2 cars. However there should be room for my wife's mobility scooter with my car, so that'll free up space in my double garage for another car, I hope.
