Dutton Kit Cars and their owners

As the title says... anyone had this done, knows of someone who does?

The object is to run a standard 1300HC crossflow with the capability to use unmodified pump fuel.

I have used these guys in the past, they specialise if Ford engines so it maybe worth a phone call ......... http://www.specialisedengines.co.uk

Cheers Paul.

Old price list seems reasonable but they do say its being updated :( new prices will have to see.

Need to find a 1600GT head now to have the seats done on, might as well go for the bigger valves before the inserts.

Most places here only do the exhaust and recommend using stainless inlet valves with good guides, took me an age to find a guy local. Chris Inch engine services done my Sprint head, they are in Plymouth.

Cheers Steve. I knew it was only the exhaust valves that needed doing as the inlets are cooled by incoming airflow. Been looking at valve guide inserts too as most heads will be old and worn by now. I've seen a couple on ebay but it always concerns me that they may have been ported and gone thin on the water jackets, I think i'd rather use a standard 1600GT head so it already has the larger valves and just get the inserts and guides done.

Ha, nice one Steve, Ill go for the Westhoughton one first as they are a bit closer :)

Seats £25 each, guides about £8-£10... Total cross flow head recon £220 ish... I'd call that a win.

i got mine done at dunright engineers in warrington £130 they also did any other work at half the price of head shop and dont have to wait months

just done 6 in the V8, know now why they call them hardened valve seats. They were like glass, took an age.
