Dutton Kit Cars and their owners

Just been introduced to one of these being built. I'm impressed, front wheel drive stuck behind the cab making it mid engined. I could get my teeth into one of these :-)))

I've looked at this before, it's American so you'd be on your own regarding the IVA. Likely to suffer from the same problem my GTM had, terrible understeer as the front wheels don't have enough weight over them, followed by violent snap oversteer. Cabin side needs to be lower to allow easier access.

Very interesting. Sometimes something just looks right. If you look at the book (which costs $100) then it has a rear view which doesn't look nearly as good as this does.

I like it as well, problem with it being American is that all dimensions are imperial decimal, trying to cut that lot up without an XY axis machine is pretty nigh on impossible. No tape rule there then :-)) Easy to convert to metric but still a complex operation. As for IVA that shouldn't hold any fear to anyone who has an engineering background, if your building from scratch, get it right, do it right, follow the IVA book. Helped out several now and its always the stupid obvious thing that catches you out. Most of the testers are human and will help you get it right.Like wise with understeer, I've owned a few fast rear engined cars, you learn by going over the roundabout rather then around it :-)) My B+ will throw up a surprise every so often on greasy roads !!
