hello. any one on here got twin carbs on their car. i allways thought twin carbs gave you more power. but just been reading thats not the case...strange. will someone enlighten me pls...

yes good idea melosman. forget the chainsaw iv got a cordless circular saw....its a beast. i was saving it for the jihaddys but i could get more batterys lol

I guess that depends on both the carbs and the installation.

Weber DCOE's definitly wont as there's no vac advance facility and without vac advance on the distributor your fuel economy and drivability will be pants (try removing the vac hose from your dixxy and blanking it then driving around!) Performance carbs like DCOE's are simply too coarse in their calibation to give good fuel economy. Twin SU's on the other hand are very finely calibrated and give good transient but tend to fall short on accelleration and outright power unless oversized which then leads to poor fuel consumption. Which ever way you cut it a single choke whether per cylinder or per 4cyl engine just doesn't have the refinement needed to give good outright power with good fuel economy - if it did then woundn't have needed electronically controlled fuel injection
