Dutton Kit Cars and their owners

Friday evening started with a trip to Steve Kerry's to plan the next few weeks getting his Phaeton ready for the Northern Duttoneers North Yorkshire tour in April.

Saturday afternoon, off to Ade's to build a pinto engine, which was in good fettle to say it's stood for 10 years. It has all new pistons, rings and shells and has never been run. Forgot my piston ring compressor so managed to get as far as getting the crank in.

Sunday 9:30am off to Ade's piston ring compressor in hand (well in the boot, difficult to drive with it in my hand) Steve Heap met us there and we had the pistons in easily, after a bit of fannying about with No 1 big end it turns over. 12:45pm left to go back to Steve Kerry's where Steve was fitting the doors, had cut the rear wheel arch to cover the wheel, typical Dutton the drives side rear wheel arch tapered in to the front by 3/4" compared to the passenger side. A bit of glassing to do next weekend. I set about the interior padding the body edge and sides ready for the carpet and floor plates. It's finally coming together. left at 5:15pm. Just a day in the life of Super Duttoneer Man!!!
