Dutton Kit Cars and their owners

Gonna have a go at fitting the drilled front hubs this weekend so that I can fit ford wheels. I picked up a set of wheels pretty cheap off ebay that are ford stud pattern with quite a low offset.

Tried the wheels on the rear of the car as i'm trying to work out what size spacers to use and what length studs I need, i'm not a fan of spacers so don't want massive ones. The wheels came with nuts, they are closed end ones so the studs can't be too long.

Pic one - no spacer

Pic two - with the current cosmic spacer (about 30mm!!)

Any suggestions? Not sure was thinking 15 or 20mm spacers? Any idea what length studs i'd need?

Oh and when I fit the new rear studs how does the hub come off the cortina axle, dont think there is enough room to fit it in whilst they are in situ.

Cheers

the hub comes off by pulling the drum off then undoing four half inch bolt and pulling the half shaft out. but you can knock the studs out with it all left in place and if your not fitting too longer studs they will go back in without removing the half shaft.

hope this helps
