I'm hoping for redemption Daryl :-))
Wow, James, that is some outlay. I do like your logic though in the depreciation of the tin top. I must remember that while confessing my sins to the wife.
I have no regrets, Daryl. If I had bought a new tintop with the money I've spent then it would only have the same sort of residual value now as my Duttons have collectively. I have enjoyed the Duttoneering much more. I particularly like taking the Legerra on track days especially as I'm not the slowest car as there usually.
My Legerra: purchase of the car and the parts that I have used £2,800. Cost of repairs and replacement parts £2,500. Parts that I've bought but not yet fitted £2,100. Money that I've wasted on parts that were wrong or will never be used £900. Tax, MOT & Insurance £2,700. I haven't kept records of the tools that I have bought. If I hadn't taken up the Legerra then I'd be about £11,000 better off.
When you include the new garage that I've built and the Malaga B+ and the Melos, then this Duttoneering has cost over £20,000 in the 5 years that I've been doing it.
