Hi Daryl, I used 2mm steel mainly because someone gave it me. Against: It does make for heavy doors and it was difficult to cut with gilbows, just used a jig saw without the footplate. For good strong weld and it doesn't blow away.

Wonder of Wonders all the front lights work. Next on the list. Rear lamps, but first I thought might see if the engine will start...

Starter spins but doesn't engage, take it out, check bendix throws in, and it does. Back in try again, again it spins but doen't engage, so take it off again. Measured the the starter centre to the ring gear, problem solved the bendix misses the ring gear by about a millimetre. Now the big question. Anybody in Dutton land know which starter I need, the engine X-Flow with 190 mm flywheel, the gearbox type 3 was connected to a 2 ltr Pinto originally.

Fitted the front panel today, so I could wire up the lights, and see if the radiator can be fitted with it in place. The answer to the latter is no! So that needs more work.
