I had to act quickly and repatriate the Duttonator, so it is now back in the rainy city. I drove it for the first time today, but only 15 or 20 ft from the back of the trailer onto the drive. Then I did it again but with a few more revs - I would guess that most of Bristol heard it! It is a throbbing, thundering monster. Thank you Steve
Some forums say that the 3 litre in the UK was fitted with a 3.22 until 1971 then all 3's and 2.8's had 3.09, like you say.
I think that ratio was fitted to some Mk1 and Mk2 Capris at least. Mine is based on an RS3100, remember? Okay, I don't believe that either.
It's an Atlas but I don't think it is an LSD. It has a tag on it saying 3.22:1 but that is as far as I have investigated.
I'm not easily impressed, but this seems a well sorted car in the engineering stakes, just needs a good tarting up. Has it got LSD James? certainly feels good at the back. No fog in Plymouth, nice clear forecast.
Hurrah, It's got straight wheels! That looks really good. I hope to see you at about noon tomorrow, as long as the freezing fog that has engulfed Bristol doesn't extend all the way to Plymouth.
