That's all there is to a Phaeton door. My doors had done good service since 1984, but had started to fall apart. The last straw was our tour of the lakes when the glass came loose, They have spent the summer Haa Haa! stuck together with gaffer tape, which really was looking an untidy mess, so I decided that it was time to make something proper and more weather tight. I bought a couple of sheets of alumunium from Simmuls in Preston, with the plan to use the door frame from inside the original doors. When I cut away the old covering this is all that's inside and when the ally sheet was cut to size it is strong enough to use on it's own. Once the windows are bonded in and the weather strips and edging rubbers are fitted it is even more rigid than the originals.
