I have finished the seats, it was a struggle to get them bolted down but managed it in the end. I can't believe I have been so uncomfortable for 9 years. I now have an extra 2" leg room, and the Passenger seat is about 2" behind the drivers seat to give more elbow room. Also fitted carpets to the floor plates, it finally looks finished off.
I did need to remove the passenger seat today as the fuel gauge would not work, and as the wiring loom passes by the side of the n/s seat runner, and it worked before the seats were bolted down it must be a problem under the seat. Problem found, the wire from the sender had just been nipped and broken. Quick fix gauge working again, and seat back in.
I dropped half a litre of oil out of the sump and replaced it with a tin of STP, oil pressure up by about 10% on the gauge. Polished all the bright work. We are ready for the Lakes.
Cheers Mike, I have never owned a car this long, usually do um up and move on. But My Phaeton is something else it's part of the Family. Sad I know, "my names Dave Taylor and I'm a Duttoneer" :-)))
Well it was a tight squeeze, but job done. Just a bit of cosmetics to finish off. First time in 9 years we've had comfy seats.
I can't believe in 21 days I have owned Daisy Dutton for 9 years, it must be love!!!
