Steve....i got a blower fan from a fiat panda they are very slim and are two speed also very easy to remove from the heater box. they are about 2" thick and around 8" diameter it would be straight forward to make a box from thin ply and fibreglass any heater matrix would do.

Clearance to my wiper motor is very tight.....only a few mm‘s
