Brilliant idea Steve.Tthis could cover the cost of a banner, Polo shirt printing, show Exhibiting costs and even help Tim (The Bodger) Walker with the cost of running the Ning site which he is funding at the moment.
I guess i'll be fronting that one to the committee then boys?
Dave can you let me have a breakdown of the costs on the banner, T'shirts etc
No problem, I'll get that to you tomorrow.
Very good idea , to try to set up regional groups, mostly because if your down south, them northern meets are no good to you and vice versa , There are quite a few shows that the DOC wouldnt have a presence at that a regional group could take on board and increase our clubs presence at.
how many dutton owners are there out there that are not in the club or even know that that the club is there? what does everyone else think ?
, is there enough owners down my way to make a southern or sussex group ? i know that there are others such as the Kent kit car club etc indeed i used to be a member but it would be nice to have a monthly run out as a dutton owners club , and if they promise not to rape and plunder, we could even invite some of our northern friends along if there is a large show locally such as detling
well, since we have already got six duttons based at my home farm, I would be willing to rally up all the Scottish Duttoneers in our region ( are you are classing the whole of Scotland as one area group ? ) might be difficult to get them together for monthly meetings etc, anyway give me a shout if I can assist in any way
The balls rolling now, lets keep it going. we started as 2 and now maybe 16 with 8 cars, not all Duttons but it works for us. When I read some of the early Dutton Torques, this was the foundation of the DOC, getting out and enjoying your car what ever the marque.
The Northern Duttoneers recently became members of the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs, and attend Classic car shows as well as the Kit Car show.
If the groups could get going, then like Martin says, we could all visit different regions and make say Stoneleigh the place where we all have one big annual bash. That would give new members a goal to show thier cars, and also a target for the rebuilders and modifiers to show off thier hard work.
It's not a club you are organising just a group the club is the DOC. we take it in turns to plan the tours, everything else is a team effort.
Alfie, Scotland is a big place 2 or 3 groups, would work there. I am sure Ade Southgate can put people in touch with each other through the DOC.
Good luck getting your area going.
