What happens if you run a 'ballast' coil on an un-ballasted system?

I paid a lot of £'s for my premier loom to avoid making my own, wish I hadn't now as it looks like I'll have to unwrap it and re-do it so no time saved. Have since felt ripped off by premier as he doesn't answer my questions - so much for after sales service.

there you go...i have built two looms for my car for buttons, if you decide to have a go at the one i have posted all over these sites i am always on the end of a phone give me a ring...07850773394

Rather have a loom made for a car, the electrics on a button will be too small for me to see.

 :-)

I believe he ceased trading and moved to Spain.

Why do you have to undo the loom?

He's trading again but from spain. Judging buy his current prices I think he's single handedly trying to solve the spainish debt problem :-o

No one else seems to be making looms anymore - VWP do connector and parts etc.

Ade, The wiring loom I have bares no resemblence to the info card. 8 fuses but trying to identify which fuse is for which circuit is vertually impossibe. Some circuits seem to be missing altogether, as are some of the relays for the headlights. As I cant workout how he's wired the fused box I cant work out what he's done with the headlight circuit. Also he supplied two relay bases for what he called a four rely system, but actually it need six relays.

I paid £100 for this and as it is its unusable, and he's been decidedly unhelpful.

Sorry for the rant but I'm feeling decidedly ripped off!

Car build solutions do this http://www.cbsonline.co.uk/product/CBS_12_Circuit_Wiring_Module_WRMOD not exactly a loom though

This is why , if you understand wiring sizes and loads its best to make your own, I had a simular problem with my charger, i bought a loom for a buggy and was going to use this, the standard of wiring was awefull, the fuse box was assembled by a 2 year old, or looked like it, bare wire showing, wrong  sized wires  i stripped it down to its bits and with new correct rated wire made my own, incorporating relays  it was easier  to do this knowing where each wire went than to try to make sence of someone elses bodge

I hate wiring as is probably becoming clear :-(

I bought the premier loom to save me time and hassle - DOH!  The loom is well made its just the loom I have doesn't match the instructions that came with it so I'm in the dark (excuse pun).It says Sierra on the card but thats crossed out and in marker pen it says granada mk2. It doesnt match either the Sierra or granada wiring diag's I have and there's no feed to the loom from the battery so I don't even have a logical starting point.

Trying to fathom it out is doing my head so I'll have to unwrap it and start again. Thus the time and hassle I'd hoped to save by spending £100 hasn't worked out.

I could have made a loom for a lot less than £100 so I feel cheated - and just hyjacked Ade's threads to let off steam :-)

I have a wiring booklet and a sheet of A3 which is donor vehicle specific centred around the column switches.

Happy to type out the A3 sheet as copying isn't an option. Mine relates to a Sierra but I also have one for an escort somewhere, Dave T might even have that one.

The main reason I used a premier loom is because I know all the wiring is unbroken and just relies on my making good terminations. Add to that it was just sitting in a box in the garage, bought and paid for years ago.

I found a 12v coil , had to wire brush the alloy corrosion off the bottom to read it though. I now have a spark at the plugs :-)

I had repaired a hole in the fuel tank before refitting it, it would appear however I didn't do a very good job as I have a puddle under the rear of the car now, it took four or five hours to seep through but it must have found a weak spot in the repair. Spare tank to be fitted tomorrow AFTER testing for leaks this time.

the coil will say on it if needs a ballest resistor or not and if so what size

ballest resistor looks like a ceramic block wit 2 conectors on it

and it is on low tencion side pos

i got a high performans ballast coil and ballast cost me £80 to £90 for my sierra used about 3 month befor it got parked up im open to offers if you are intrested ????????
