DuttonOwners

Dutton Kit Cars and their owners

The above forum title was put here because of the problems with the DOC chat not working on its own site. I ll only posted twice on the chat site and immediately got a virus attack. I will not use the site any more.
My thought are that this topic is removed from this forum, and this site allowed to deal with day to day technical info, rebuilds and help.
That way this non DOC site can go back to being a meeting place for the Kit car minded.
I am sure this will generate more comment, but the topic will be removed later today, and all the negativity can be move to the DOC Q&A forum.

I have to agree, can we get back to helping each other solve our car related problems,   as others have said, we all know there are problems  that need to  be solved, be it web based or on a personal basis, but this is not the place ,or the time to do it.

Long since stopped using the DOC site, and will not be renewing membership either. This IS the site for the Dutton enthusiast don't waste my time anywhere else.

Will be posting in the new year details of my great Dutton spares sale

Whilst there are problems on the DOC site, as its being revamped can i bring members and others up to date on happenings on the regalia front?

hopefully now i have got the items i want to persue sorted out , and hope to place orders very soon,

tee shirts  we will have the first batch hopefully (if present problems can be overcome), in time for stoneleigh thes will be in white, with the  logo over the left brest, the design i have chosen is the white background with red and blue rings,  i think it makes the design stand out more than the plain design, the new stickers also, these are oval in shape and the original red on white design

The present problems stem from problems we are experiencing in the club email system which means that some inportant  emails are not either reaching their intended host, or not being read, there are issues concerning obtaining funds, that have to be dealt with, the club did send me a cheque, but it was made payable to the wrong  company, because messages  were not being answered or questions, such as who do you want it made out to were not  asked, and it will delay things.

IMPORTANT.

I have updated the DOC forum with a list of subjects for discussion at the next committee meeting.

If you could please take 5 minutes to read the post I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Adrian

The 2015 AGM will be held at 2pm on Sunday 3rd May 2015 in the club tent at Stoneleigh.

Current members will be receiving new cards which you will need to bring with you  if you wish to participate.

Nominations for officer positions received so far are as follows.

Daryl Heasman has been nominated for Chairman.

Martin Butler has been nominated for Secretary.

Roger Barr has been nominated for Treasurer.

No nominations have been received for webmaster although Mr Richard Webber has expressed an interest in helping out with the website, hosting and other 'online' issues. I have therefore nominated him for one of the four non officer posts on the committee.

The club needs to adapt to changes and move forward, be more proactive and serve it's members better.

There will be a newsletter published as a PDF for download and will be sent to all current members as hard copy along with cards. This is a general news letter and not restricted to club members. At this moment in time I do not know if postal votes will be accepted on the day. More news will follow on this.

I expect to make a voting form available to all members that can be completed and emailed or posted. I may even have time to include them with the hard copy news letters. Whether the  current committee decide to accept them is unknown. I personally feel that some things should be put to ALL members and that a postal vote is the only way this can be done effectively.

Please don't use this as an excuse to start a rambling arguement on the pro's and cons of the club on here.

If you wish to have a say on the day then dust off the dutton and come down.

If you wish to bring a subject up for discussion at the AGM please let me know by PM or email.

If you are currently experiencing issues with non receipt of cards / paperwork etc from myself then please get in touch and I will do my best to resolve the issues. Some issues have already been brought to my attention and are being dealt with,

Please don't clog up this forum with club stuff as it is a privately funded and run site, i'll be happy to deal with any enquiries by pm or email.

All the best

Adrian

PS - I will be available on the chat room (link) on Monday from about 9pm onwards. PM me for a password if you wish to join in.

Adrian. For my 2 pence worth thank you for your hard work. Thank you also goes to the other members mentioned for standing up and being counted. Well done all, your efforts allow the club to continue. John. PS postal/online voting sounds excellent as I won't be able to attend the AGM.

Yes, I'll second those sentiments, John. Its a pity that the cars themselves don't get a vote as Daryl would easily win because he owns most of them! I think that postal and/or some sort of electronic voting has to be the way forward because none of us are getting any younger and physical attendance is difficult for many, in our busy modern lives. Electronic might be easier and cheaper for the club to manage.

Point of Order: all nominations and club business has to be from the club secretary. So once again this will fall into a shambles :-(

Both the chairman and the club secretary have been notified by recorded delivery AND first class mail.

I sent each of them two copies of the nominations, all signed by all parties and they will arrive tomorrow.

The constitution states 'club sec', the letter I got from Derek says 'chairman' so I did both.

There is no requirement for cards to be shown nor is there any precedent for it as a valid way of voting...besides it is open to abuse as not all members have current mem cards and the issuer is one of the organising the vote.

I will assume there is no 'implication' in that Dave and repeat what I said above, I will be issuing new cards before the AGM.

Some of the insurance companies have requested that the logo and the members details be on the same side of the card as it used to be.

I asked that members bring the cards as I have been asked in the past to check them, This will also save me time doing renewals at the show for people who pay on the desk.

dont see why the insurance companies cannot get used to it, they change logo from time to time and besides i never receive any discount by being in the club..and "some" of the insurance companies they should get with the program....and get their own copy of the new logo.
