Well, if they're worth that much, I have two here.........any offers ????
£10
he must be...
10000 for an engine? oof Is that normal over there?
no....lol
With that sort of spec I can see where the price is derived from... shame he didn't get the rust out of the water jacket.
why adrian.................? the engine would have to be goldplated. no way
I said I could see where it was derived from... didn't say it was worth it. If you put the basic cost of the engine, parts and labour together, doing it as a business you'd then add an over enthusiastic and un-realistic profit margin just because its a cross flow...
Don't be so antagonistic, just because you don't have such an active imagination, the seller obviously doesn't actually want it to sell, he's just put it on there to keep the mrs from moaning about all the engines in the garage...
There is an interesting psychological phenomenon called "anchoring" which is very useful in negotiations and other situations. Basically if someone suggests a price then that defines the starting point for the negotiation and sets the expectation. Having put the ridiculous number of £10,000 out there means that that is where people start and they will approach the realistic range of prices from the high end:
10000? No
5000? No
3000? No
2000?umm, No.
1500? Okay.
If he had put a starting bid of £10 then people would probably expect to get it for a few hundred and it would probably never get to £1000.
lol could be.
I do anti-haggle. If someone tries to knock me down, the price then goes up... simples.
