think there already is one Brian, Dutton Owners Club International, its as dead as the owners site.

ok didnt now that steve. we could star another one. doc+ning owners club. this sit is getting crap :-)))))

I think that that would be a great idea Brian. We chat quite a bit on facebook and setting up a Dutton Owners site would permit much better chat for all the Dutton Owners. lol, Just had to delete and reenter this comment just to get it to show up.

exactly jim its a poor platform. we need to move with the times jim....im going to set one up. everyone is welcome. we can chat. and post loads of pics. it will be closed. and you will need to own or have a keen insterest in duttons ... dutton uk. is the going to be the name :-)))))

Sounds great Brian, Keep me informed if you need some help.

I think that you would do better to join the existing international group on Facebook because it is an existing group with a whole load of members, some of whom would probably welcome a couple of new faces, rather than start your own group from scratch with a handful of members.

Brian is a member of regular facebook and Dutton kit-car Oldtimers so he is familiar with how these sites operate.

I am one of the administration on the dutton kitcar oldtimer Facebook page.....

This and one other regular forum are the extent of my social media ....... AND I'M PROUD OF IT !!

Face Book, Twitter, Instagram etc,   are all associated with the hethenistic degradation of any normal social life, a modern take on the original nosy neighbor next door

I think that Facebook has its good points and I use it most days but I am not convinced that it is suitable platform for a car club. On here, as with many forums, there are separate threads or stories that you can follow over days or weeks. Dave Adam's rebuild thread must be over a year old and is over 50 pages long. I don't think that would work on Facebook. I think that is why the existing Dutton Facebook group isn't more popular.

I am a member of a couple of groups on Facebook and, for me, they only work when you already know the majority of the other members. But it does not seem a very good way to get to know the other members because most posts are just one or two sentences. As a result, only a small percentage of members ever post anything. So I am not convinced that it is very good for most group members.

ok going to be brutally honest .....i have no intention of splintering this group and causing trouble, but the words "STUCK IN THEIR WAYS" rings a bell. dutton cars and their owners need to move with the times. and try new things. or it will just fade away. how many ppl post on this site..? a handful. so in my eyes already fading. points for facebook are. 1.always up and running. 2.can post high res pics easily. 3. chat is easy in real time.(even group chats). 4 it will reach a national and international group of dutton owners. 5. get posts direct to your mobile. . would welcome points for and against gents.  its only a idea, im not planning a revoloution here.   :-))))))
