2016 Events

Looking into 2016, I am intending to organize a fun weekend of camping, socialising and racing (optional) at Santa Pod Raceway in Bedfordshire. The aim is to get as many Duttons as we can  from across the country  to join in.

I know it is a logistical nightmare as some of you will have to come a very long way ...... see below.  But given that we all have a common love for our cars, it would be great to get us all together for some fun  ( WITH NO FEKIN POLITICS…

Pheaton rebuild progress

Posted on December 29, 2011 at 20:53 9 Comments

Making full use of my Christmas pass, to spend uninterupted time in my cave........ good progress has been made on the Phaeton.

I have finished the roll bar by welding in a cross bar for the seat belt top fixings, out of the same diameter tube. Smoothing out the welds so it will appear seamless, welded on the bottom fillets and completed the welding around the shock top mounts, now I have them in the correct position. The whole assembly has now been removed and is ready to go off to…

Hi Paul. Thanks – and yes, my Melos is roadworthy (freshly painted as of this week) so I'd be keen to join a run. I'm actually closer than it looks as the N1 postcode is my office address (my car lives outside a lot of the time so I'm a bit nervous about shouting about where it's kept!). Do keep me posted.

Asshole's garage is where you feel at home, where you can admire your bike(s) , car(s),

pictures of what you like apart from mechanical thinks, where you can relax, where you can practice "What happens in the garage stays in the garage", where you can use all the tools you bought because you thought you needed them, where you can escape from what you want to escape from and a lot more.

That is my first, preliminary definition.

Bert

So, no problem but a blessing!!

lol, Finding a 50's Bel-air for sale is almost like looking for a Dutton in Florida. They go for around $50,000. Don't need another Phaeton. Very few compare to mine. She is a truly great and unique Phaeton with those front wings.  I just love my old girl and still cannot believe that I found her on a used car lot over here 12 years ago. Now I think a good Melos would go along great with her and a Harley seems like a fair trade.

Sounds interesting, I often find the word extensive to be very closely linked to expensive, I hope it wasn't for you.
I have seen the Santa Pod info, I think it is my weekend to work though so unfortunately can't commit unless something changes closer to the time so I can wriggle out of work
