One of my next upcoming big jobs is going to be completely re-wiring the car from scratch. My original idea was to cut the scuttle off and then create a system where it is easily removable for ease of maintenance in the future. Seeing that Paul had done this with his car has reinforced my thinking however I know he changed the layout of his quite a bit whereas I'd like to keep mine as original as possible, IE made with fibreglass in the original shape.I have a spare scuttle that came with my car however, looking at it, I'm not entirely sure it's actually for a Phaeton 2. "When I did the green Legerra I used gold hammerite smooth, minimum of two coats and in some places a third coat using an aerosol. It lasted a couple of years but most has just worn off with being battered by spray from 47000 miles of abuse.
So my rear suspension upgrades are progressing well with Dave at Track Developments.I have given him a tin of POR15 Rust Preventative Paint to paint everything with when he is done to stop it immediately going rusty, however it seems that it's going to need an overcoat.What kind of product should I be using on the underside to protect and paint all the metal parts?
