Dutton Kit Cars and their owners

The car arrived yesterday after a bit of hassle getting it moved from Scotland. It looks solid and a good base for a project but as usual there is more work to do than originally planned.

The main jobs are, the brakes need freeing off, hardly any of the electrics are working, pedal box needs bracing as it flexes horribly, track control arm to replace, rear wheel bearing, cooling system to look at and fan to fit. The front bodywork has some bad cracks that need repairing. On the good side, i've had it running and it sounds sweet and I moved it in to the unit under its own power.

I am rewriting my rewire article to be easier to do and cope with fuel injection do you want to get an early copy?
It uses 16 fuses and 11 relays that said it should be much easier to understand and put together I am includind a full pin board harness layout as well as amp rating of the wires.
Dont see why not.........
Pete..the S4 fibreglass is much thinner than the S1 and appears to be prone to cracking on the wheel arches. The bonnets are particularly thin and wobbly. .....

Apparently at some point in the past someone didn't take much care unloading the car from a trailer and caught the front end causing all of the damage

That looks pretty good, Pete. Could do with a polish thought!

Purists? Purists,  what , in the Duttoneering world  Wayne, i think your somewhat deluded , have you been sniffing the home brew again?

and thats all part of the fun,  coming up with new solutions , crossflows and pinto's wont be around for ever or affordable, so why not fit more recent power units and gearbox  if you can get them cheaper than it costs to overhaul the original units. it makes sence

Burble? what the heck  is that, you have been on the home brew havnt you:)

Burble is what you get when you feel it hit your insides , followed by  projectile vomiting

Nothing quite as nice as the burble of a V8,  Ive got a 5.4L AMC engine in the corner of the workshop, but that's not for a Dutton, that's going in the Trike ;-))))

Sherry, what are the odds on Pets new S4, hitting the road before your car is finished??

Steady boy's, there's no rush !!!
