power bulge (small)

well another busy weekend, asides from prep-ping the S1 for our trip to France i decided to do something about the oil filler cap touching the underneath of the bonnet.....the solution.... a small power bulge, here's how i did it....

 

first get your self an empty 2L plastic bottle and cut it open.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Layer some fibre glass into it....

when set remove the bottle and prop up at one end and fill with water to get the desired size....

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

spray with black paint (over the water)

tip out the water to leave the "tide mark"

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Cut to shape and sand flat...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I sprayed with primer to check for flaws.....

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

here it is mocked up on the bonnet to show you all how it looks.

nice little touch all i did is cut the filler neck down

u can do something the same with a 5l oil can to make a bigger one ed air scoop

but gd work mate

I thought about cutting the filler neck and even moving it, but decided to make a power bulge instead.
