Any ideas how I can calculate the efficiency and compatibility of a radiator for the 1800 Zetec engine?  I have a new radiator sitting in the storeroom, which will be the perfect size to fit close to the grill at the very front of the bonnet and also has both outlets on the correct side for my plumbing.  But don’t know what it is out of.

an interesting question ,, as i am lookin into fitting an 1800 zetec into a melos,, havnt considered what rad to use as yet ,, im still trying to work out / decide what ignition to use

so i need help,,,

The radiator that fits the grille area will be fine (any) i use a rover 1.4 radiator. i know of someone who has a rover v8 on a volvo 340 radiator and they are small. he does not suffer over heating. ducting and free air flow are the most important things.
I have used a fiesta rad and with all the extra pipe work the system holds more coolant than the mondeo that the engine came from it allso has no air flow restriktions ie front xmember etc

Thats good, I think its from a VW Polo.

best  make shure its  ,,mint,, without the hole then ,,,,lol,,,,

VW Polo rads very popular in kit car world esp by westie drivers. i use an expansion tank from a polo very nice and compact.

VW polo and Peugeot rads are popular as are the Rover. Aaron radiators anddiscount cooling supply radiators at competative prices and show dimension and outlet details

Make sure you box in the radiator to ensure the air goes through it and can't get round it. DCmotorsportuk on ebay does leccy fans cheap as well.
