If it was MOT and taxed in 2007 think he has been misled.

Cat A can get away from the insurance company but only if a salvage yard has been VERY VERY naughty and broken their contract of destruction with the insurance company
Its happened before but its bloody rare an normally involves something a lot more expensive than a Dutton !!!

May enquire.

Cat A and B should NEVER see the road again. Cat C and D are repairable but will always be tagged with a Cat on the V5.

If he has received a V5 that is marked as a Cat of any description then it can only be C or D as they wouldn't re-issue a V5 for a Cat A or B.

If its a runner with everything as described on a Cat A then its a breaker, Anyone want any parts?

I'd find a home for the engine and box...

I thought CAT A were 'for dismantling' not for crushing.

I wonder WHY its a cat A, surely not due to accident damage, the only thing I can think of is flood damage.

No problem, I stand corrected.

My previous comment still stands though ...WHY is it listed as a CAT A?

Errr, Too many.

There would be more if some people got away with it...
