Dutton Kit Cars and their owners

Clocks sprung forward, the weather sprung back, tipping it down, blowing a hoolie and cold, could it be Easter is coming, all the campers are getting excited at pitching in the rain etc. I want to blast about in the B+. Looks like a  day in the cave.

he is winding you up Jim......  :-)    mind you.......

the thing about the weather here in the UK is that it is so changeable. we can literally get 4 seasons in a day..

a good example are the Europeans who are moving to the UK for work....when they learn English at school they also learn that the British like to talk about the weather, they do not understand why. winter is cold summer is hot. often on the continent the weather is the same for weeks on end, why talk about it?

then they move here, after a few week they phone home and the first thing they say when asked whats it like in the UK ....they say something about the weather. it makes their families back home laugh....they sound like English men already.

At 3.41 am this morning (timestamped from my security camera) something wasn't quite right for the last couple of days in April...

Yup, it snowed. luckily the temperature has gone up enough so it's just sleet now but still cold.

This is England, we don't do normal...

Well it should still be in the 70's over here. So we maybe should just ship some heat over to you guys across the pond. :-))

So the forecast for Stoneleigh this weekend is that it will be sunshine and showers on Saturday afternoon before a dry and cold night (1 C). Then a bit wetter on Sunday, as the wind picks up and the temperature rises and only drops to 8C on Sunday night. Monday is like Sunday - wet and dreary.

Werrington hillclimb tomorrow, always raining when that's on. Happy bank holiday :-))

well, got that wrong ! went to Werrington hill climb, Thats up at Launceston, Devon Cornwall border, the bad lands. Any way cracking day, warm in the sun, cold in the cloudy bits. Lots of thrills and spills. Took the B+ and had lots of interest shown in the car park, walking down the hill and met a guy I haven't seen in 40 years, he taught me how to race bikes! and he is still doing it ! Turbo Kawasaki, fully road legal, it was shaking in its frame on tickover due to the hairy cams. Well not a lot got done time we passed on what each other had been up to. A couple of old fishermen, mine was bigger then yours :-)) I came away happy and took the main road to Tavistock, its always quiet, crossing the Tamar there is a great hill with several good wide bends, so I had my own class of hillclimb, car is performing great. Here's to a good summer.

here here i hope so too steve. its great when you catch up with old friends. come on sun come up north :-)))

It was very chilly over the weekend at Stoneleigh. On Sunday morning it had warmed up to 2C by 8am but it was colder at 6:30 when this photo was taken. Why do we have the AGM in the middle of winter?

james you have read my mind.....WHY.

From what I remember it used to be warmer back in the early 00's.

Nice photo though. It wasn't that cold in Bolton at 6.30, no frost and very little moisture on the Sierra.

The water droplets on the outside of my tent had turned to ice. It is difficult to sleep when the air in your tent is that cold. I slept well enough, with a Dutton hat on and a blanket over my head, but by 6:30am there was lots of condensation and it was the damp pillow and bedding that forced me out of bed. (No, I had not wet myself after too much beer in the club marquee).

It was a nice bright morning though and it felt good to have survived!
