It might also be the permanent sunshine that Plymouth seems to be blessed with (especially when it is raining in Bristol) that causes your paint to suffer.

I've just started to inspect my "blemishes" after 5 years of hard use, Think I need some time, in fact, lots of time, see areas where the whole paint has lifted mainly in little corners. I expect its the high speed re entry :-)
