Comment by John Tighe on May 9, 2017 at 12:48: Interesting theory I knew the bulge was E Type but it never occurred to me that it could have been from that car, I have just sent Tim Dutton a picture of my original bill the old factory shot and the car today, I wonder if i will get a reply?

You'd have thought standing them on an empty pallet would have been an idea.

Comment by John Tighe on May 9, 2017 at 11:25: I do vaguely remember getting to the factory and being disappointment with the crude set up but it was early days of kit cars and although £308 sounds cheap in 1972 I was earning about £25 a week, I do believe in the 80s Dutton had a showroom in Worthing

Met a couple of people who knew Tim and remember Dutton from the early days. I was hoping to get photos of both factories as they are now but unfortunately they are both long gone now
The original pig shed units succumbed to subsidance since they were on a weird slope/valley location. They were knocked down and a building twice the size with proper footings sits there
The tangmere factory was also knocked down and one new building put up there using the footprint from 2 buildings and that factory now rebuilds/services fire engines

Comment by James Doulton on May 8, 2017 at 23:48: The 'factory' looks much more like a scrap yard than I imagined. I thought the cars would be indoors and that they'd bring it out on a forklift and put it on your trailer. I didn't expect them to be sitting on soft wet muddy grass with puddles. I bet your mate regretted wearing light coloured trousers!

Yes it was Newcroft, Tangmere but I am sure the building they fabricated the cars was behind me as I took the photo,
