The main problem was that the pump injector was blocked. It's unlikely it could have been unclogged and I managed to break it taking it out, so had to get a spare carb and rob the part from it. Once this was replaced, I had to lean the mixture right off before it would run on anything other than full choke. I've not set the mixture properly yet but it seems to run alright for now.

A few little foibles still to sort but it starts, runs and drives now, which is the best nick it's been in nearly a decade!
