A little device called an Anti Surge Chamber. Basically an internal reservoir that sits on the bottom of the fuel tank, ensuring that the fuel pick up always has an uninterrupted supply. The chamber is fed through a series of drillings in either end cap, along with the return flow, from the high pressure fuel rail.
