Ahh Haa, all part of the design Dave. It had to be a bit sturdy, as the battery shelf is half the width of the battery, so this tray is the main support and clamp. This was done to give me more room under the scuttle for the electrics and ECU.
James, the only 'O' Level, I got at school was for metal work, and I have been filing and grinding for the last 38 years :-)
i just went to a local scrappers and looked for one that looked easily removed and reused....then cut it up so it would fit..always the easy way for me. which is why i wont ever build a proper show car, unlike what your building. i wish i had the patience.
wow i was worried that the steel i put into the green S1 was a little OTT but that battery tray looks positively agricultural.....:-) tidily done though Paul.
there is one thing its not ever going to fall out.....
