Neither Daryl !!!   it was simply operator abuse ;-)) using the side of a thin wheel and trying to take off too much material at once, where as I should have walked into the other shop and used the big grinder.

Yeah all bits and bobs accounted for, it happened whilst grinding a 30" hedgecutter bar, what really gets the adrenaline going is watching the grinder trying to get off the wall through the vibration caused by the remains of the imbalanced wheel.
