Sure did, cheers Dave. fitted and awaiting a new cambelt and front crankshaft oil seal then reassembly can commence Haynes style.

Still not sure about the head gasket but I haven't got enough leverage where the engine is currently to crack the head bolts off so it will wait. If its blown then I will just have to fix it.

I aborted, camshaft oil seal and belt both need changing, better to do it now than later when the engine is in the car. I did sort out a wiring loom though. electrical spaghetti all over the place now.

You'll appreciate the irony of it being a ford sierra wiring loom too.
