Been thinking a bit more about the surging issue, and have come up with this idea, making a tubular ally cylinder about 45mm in diameter, blanked at one end and fitted to the feed pipe of the tank sender unit at the other end, with small holes for the fuel to flow through and using a Walboro filter and pick up pipe fitted to the bottom half of the tube. This should stop any probems with fuel starvation due to surging. The high pressure pump will lift the fuel and self prime, but I have been told they tend to drain back down when turned off, and so the pump runs dry each time before it chrarges, so reducing it's life. To over come that little problem I am going to use an in line non return check valve from JP4mance.

That looks quite large, do you know what it'll hold?

To answer a few questions about the tank, I didn't make it (wish I could lay claim to that one) I got it off ebay a few years ago. It was custom made for a Phaeton, the reason for the angled end is to give some clearance for a rear exit Cherry Bomb silencer. It is stainless steel and does not have any baffles in it, so my options are; foam cubes from Demon Tweeks that can be persuaded to go in through the sender unit hole, but will cause problems with the sender float!!  or a swirl pot set up, meaning two pumps and a pot  ....... being as it will be for road use, I intend to try it as is, first off and see if I really need the expense of an SP set up.
