One other little modification / improvement. I'm not sure what clutch cable was originally fitted, but it was too long and had to bend in about three places to reach the clutch arm. As such, it had perished and split. The Mk2 Escort one is much shorter to the bend radius is just perfect for the task, although the stem was a little longer so required a new bulkhead fitting. The previous one looked like a McDonalds straw glued to a piece of Cornflakes packet, by comparison. Clutch pedal is now much, much lighter.
