I know..... i was saying someone argued with me.....and told me i was an idiot to claim a chassis number for the Btype started with BT....it was interesting to have an original buyer of the Btype to post the chassis number.

i knew i was right....but i was then said to be a pretend know it all about Duttons. turns out i was right and there is photographic proof.......the point i was ineptly trying to make.........(on this very forum as well....!)

Well Dave when we picked up our kits in 1972 the chassis number is stamped with a centre punch in dots on the top cross bar just behind the engine above the gearbox and it's still there saying BT 137 and I will add to my photos a picture of the original receipt and that can't lie as it clearly says BT 137

I know someone who will give you a very good argument about B type chassis numbers......told me i was an idiot to insist they started with BT......

John, do you know the registration of his car? I will check our records to see if I have any info.

Hi Tony, well my mate finished his car in the 70s and it was sprayed British racing green and fitted with a Triumph 1360 engine but didn't keep it for long and I have no idea what happened to it, I would love to know if it's still around somewhere so if anyone knows the whereabouts of BT 136 please let me know

Know of people who think/thought they had a good relationship with TDW
Seen him the next time and been blanked
Don't know if it was Tim or a other person but a guy I know at fontwell tried to hire Duttons old pig stye unit to do grp canoe's in
While being shown round the units an discussing a deal with the owner he was followed round by the owners wife with a video camera
This was very early 80,s .He was amazed because it was the first video camera he had ever see he asked what it was all about an they told him it was due to all the trouble they had with a previous Tennant
Said it was the wierdest showing he's ever had

Yeah I remember issues going on around that time but Tim got back to me and asked if he could use my picture on his web site and I have never had any issues with him so I am happy and proud to have my car displayed anywhere, if I search b-type it's picture usually comes up taken at Stoneleigh in the 80s

There was a bust up between TDW and DOC in the eighties I seem to remember, which resulted in TDW setting up Club Dutton as a factory sanctioned club but IIRC Club Dutton folded not long after Dutton closed. Former Mem sec Amber did an interview with TDW for the (I think) 25years of the DOC but he always seems to have blown hot and cold with Dutton owners sometimes seeming very genial and at other times quite disparaging.

You may get a reply from Tim, he's been a little more relaxed with the sports car owners recently. Never hurts to try.

I remember collecting a friends Sierra. I had an hiab on the truck, spent the morning helping to load others with Sierra's and the odd Phaeton, it was collection day on a Saturday, Then had to pop across to Jago's to collect a T bucket for another mate. Well spotted Ade with the old E type.
