I rebuilt the engine early last year so thought as it's done about a 1000 or so miles I'll just check the preload of the tappets to ensure everything has settled in and all is well. I have a fast road cam and rhoads lifters so it always sounds very lumpy and 'tappety' on tick over so it never sounds the smoothest until it gets going. The engine has big valve heads which i've also ported, ported Edelbrock inlet manifold, crower 50232 cam (needs bigger one!), Edelbrock 500 carb, the block has top hat liners and the heads are secured with ARP studs. It also had all new bearing and obviously the rockers which you can see hear. Don't know the performance but I'd like to hope around 275bhp and the same in torque. It gets the car up the road very well :)
Those rockers look very clean and bright - are they new? What are you doing to the engine?
Hydraulic? I had forgotten that - if I had ever known it! I find adjusting the 8 valves on a Pinto a real back-breaker (even before my recent problems), give me pushrods and tappets anytime.
Didn't say there was anything wrong with the pic or the engine Daryl.
Its an RV8 they have hydraulic cam followers so no valve clearance check LOL Didn't think I'd need to explain that
For driving pleasure, the more the merrier. I think that by the time you have that many cylinders then you really need "a man" to do the maintenance for you!
Bahahahaha LOL :)))))
Bahahahaha!!!! LOL
