Yes, I like that too, just don't put silly badge on front, it's a Dutton, be proud. :-)

I still think this is one of the best modified dutton phaetons I have seen. I like the phaeton front end but this "7" nose cone and cycle wings is a really nice job.......tempted my self as my S1 has no bonnet......just parts of them ;-)

Spot on car ! F~*+ what any one else says its your car you can do what you want with it,make it look like what you want and put what you want on it !!!
Long as you have "dutton" on the v5 an you sell it as a dutton whats the problem ? 110% with you,put your money where your mouth is and front up at a VOSA station if you think its wrong.
Cant be bothered with all the rubbish in the club at the moment, had Duttons for 27 years now and when I started out it was all about getting your car out and having fun.
there have been over 6500 Duttons and no 2 have ever looked the same thou some have been pretty similar and some bare VERY little resemblance to the car that Tim Dutton intended but they are still duttons and should still be welcomed.
Who knows when this car was built ? when was it registered ? it might of been like this from the 1st day it hit the road, thats the idea of a "kit car" its what you as an individual and if you just use the chassis or every single nut and bolt in the kit its your choice
Tim Dutton did a couple of racing specials that look nothing like a standard phaeton which hardly anyone knows about,(not the duck bill specials with the swoopy front either)if they were to show up on the scene would they be rejected as non standard ? they are still duttons same as this car.
Might have a Lotus engine, might be Lotus inspired whatever its up to the ownwer it can be covered in Lotus stickers but its still a Dutton !!!!!

Enjoy your car it looks quite good, personally i like the dutton front end but yours is one of the better coversions. And yes its enough of a dutton to park next to mine at any show you care to attend, if your an enthuiastic owner you will just what we need in the club.

If it genuinely started out a Dutton and still looks a bit like one then its a Dut.

martin

i see youve ducked my offer!!!!!

this car is a dutton phaeton, with a nose cone and an ally bonnet, replacing the spider crazed one piece front.

now this may sound stupid, but a dutton is a KIT CAR. no two cars are ever the same, i taken off the front one piece panel and replaced it. thats the whole idea of having an individual hand built car. or shoul;d i sell it and buy a ford sierra???. next point, how many cars have you took for a vosa check???. ive took 22, and guess what? 100% if you regard yourself as such a knowledgeable guy, bring your cash(lol)and lets go to VOSA.
