I have submitted a query to my main supplier as that isn't listed in the catalogue :(
Are both ends splined? Can I persuade you to take a couple of close ups of each end?
Oh bother! a nice B+ with the right engine and spares, gets the brain ticking :-)) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/kitcar-dutton-pheaton-/262542625857?&...
I believe the shortest RV8 pulley is the mgbv8 one
I'm trying to find that out, some say get rid of the pulley and use something different, others say you need the balancer. The one I have is huge and did drive power steering as well. But all I will be driving is the alternator.
Whilst searching for a specific part this place was mentioned, and, they have the part. Seems they are very old skool, worth a mention: http://www.fwthornton.co.uk
That's all it will run, the alternator, have the same on my B+. Need electric cooling fan though. Discovered this is a common thing on hot V8 engines. The electric pump runs at a constant speed so pushes more water around the system. Not more pressure but more volume. If you're brave you can add a stat to speed up warm up, pump doesn't work until it hits the right temperature, bit risky I think but easy to forget to switch it on :-))
So, when can I book mine in then Steve?
Seems I'm reading it wrong, sorry about that, but I like other's are positive, some seem to take delight in knocking others idea's, not just mine. I don't want a V6, so I tried the V8, if it was easy I'd be disappointed. Gearbox will be LT77, prop will be home brew special and back end could be irs Sierra with disc. Today I'm having a day off to reflect on where I'm going with this, plus rescuing the V8 Jago from Wadebridge, might be able to grab some parts off that.
The Ford Sierra rear end might allow you to keep the normal MT75 prop shaft fixing because there would be no change of angle or length as the wheels go up and down. That's a positive!
