Went and picked up a Phaeton from Big Vern (Cheers mate!) as a rebuild project. Its an S1 but has some S2 bits from the looks of it like the rear bodywork which has the bulges for spring hangers.
The plan is to strip it back to the bare chassis and then build it up from there, new bushes, calipers etc and a new engine just not sure what yet! It came with some goodies such as some Revolution wheels with yokos, a nice stainless exhaust and a new hood.

Hi guys, sold my S1 back in August 2010 but still been lurking around. The missus called things a day recently so I have moved out and now have a bit more free time on my hands. I'm looking for a Phaeton or Melos to strip and rebuild, the state of it doesn't matter to much but would like a road registered one. Only got a few hundred to spend so think I might be looking for a while!

well that looks just like the Legerra, only those shockers look the right size for the car unlike mine which were way too long.
that radiator is lacking ducting, i bet it gets hot quick......
it always amazes me that folks build their car and they think the air knows it has to go through the radiator rather than the easy route out through the wheel arches.
for a S4 it does look nicely proportioned and the front looks a lot less sit up and beg that the average one...;-)
i will be taking a closer look when i come round this next week or so.
now that is interesting.....the front wheel arch's look a lot lower than the S4 generally looks. that and the fact that it has "Legerra" style front suspension with the shocker mounted to the top wishbone. i didn't think the S4 had that as an option.
Pete have you posted any photos of your car giving the side view.....also I would like to see the front suspension set up.... :-)
Hi Pete , It would be good to meet up and have a chat some time. Was nice to get out for a little ride today, car is getting there but time and money seems to go no where lol.
Dan if you like me carb set up and points and timing etc are a mystery, if u can set it up properly makes the world of difference. give am an ecu and programme to mod it any day. i use the excuse im to young for it all. lol
It's best to keep off the curry the night before you use a flame or make sparks in the workshop!!!
