Q42 LKH
A Harley trike sounds like a good mobility vehicle. My father had an invalid carriage, a blue 3 wheeler with a 4 speed Villiers 2-stroke motorbike engine. It was a single cylinder 250 (I think) and you had to restart the engine in the other direction to reverse. It did have a roof though.
A few years ago there was a story of someone in a Reliant 3 wheeler who had managed to get away from a police car on some winding hilly road. The papers had dressed it up as if the police were unable to keep up. The reality was that they could not get past and weren't prepared to kill themselves or him. They dropped back because there didn't want to push him as his cornering on 2 wheels looked like he would kill himself or anyone coming the other way.
I expect that the Caterham was just enjoying staying well within the limits of his car. You can get fed up with every idiot wanting to race you when you only wanted to drive nicely. 7/10ths is a nice drive, 10/10ths is not.
He probably pulled over to point and laugh...
I HAVE MANAGED TO CHASE A CATERHAM SEVEN OVER HARDNOTT PASS UNTILL HE WAS SO FED UP OF ME OUT HANDLING HIM HE PULLED OVER TO ALLOW ME TO PASS !
