Since a 4 cyl engine has any event in any one cylinder 180 crank angle degrees apart there will never be any point at which any cylinder event occurs at the same time as any other cylinder.
Cast manifolds are cheaper to produce than tubular and unless the design is poor can perform equally as well.
im not convinced their is much to gain otherwise why did for drop it for future cars....?????

Cast iron is much cheaper to produce than steal. Those require the right bending and take more time to produce.
in fact didnt the cosworth have a small ish cast manifold....no cross flowings their.... :-)
fair play. so why did they produce the cast one.???????
Another way to look at it is, though it's a compromise Ford spent a lot getting that manifold working, probably a lot more then Fred in his shed did when welding a four branch.
thanks steve. i think for me longevity is better ....i can also get a stainless exhaust made if i have a good starting point eg manifold :-)))

lol thanks ade lmfao. im still not convinced it makes that much difference .....its just gas down a pipe. so what happens to a engine with no manifold. ???? sorry if i sound thick but i am lol
